Get your claws in to a little theatre this summer with a truly jellicle one-man comedy extravaganza

Back in carefree days of December 2019, Universal released the much anticipated cinematic adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical theatre smash hit Cats. Every super fan of the show, avid Broadway goer and lovers of the poetry collection that the show was inspired by had waited with such expectation. Such electric anticipation…

Unfortunately, that film was a massive flop. Some might even say it was scarily awful. Not at all jellicle.

But fear not! Finally, there is a show for those who dreams were crushed! Finally, there is a show that provides a jellicle discussion about the jellicle aspects of the jellicle cats in Cats!

How to Live a Jellicle Life: Life Lessons from the 2019 hit movie musical Cats celebrates the wonderful life lessons you can gain from the 2019 cinematic failure and then tells you how you can apply them to your life in order to make it truly jellicle.

The hour long show comes from the mind of actor and writer, Linus Karp, whose previous performances have earned him praise from both Edgar Wright and Mark Gatiss. He has once again teamed up with Awkward  Productions with whom he teamed up with for a production of Rob Hayes’ surreal play;  Awkward  Conversations  With  Animals  I’ve  F*cked. Karp earned a plethora of 5 star reviews for the role. The show began at the Underbelly Edinburgh in 2018, it then went on to have a stint at King’s Head Theatre and finally enjoyed more success with a National Tour in 2019. This time they return to the stage with yet another show about… sexy animals.

How to live a Jellicle Life… is a one man comedic parody that celebrates one of the biggest cinematic flops of recent years. It combines a passion for the film and a critical eye of the movie’s theatrical highs and lows that is reminiscent of a cross between an academic analysis of b-movie flop and a giggle-inducing camp stand up show.

Come along for a silly, ridiculous, very queer and unquestionably jellicle time. Expect jellicle laughs, jellicle dance and a very jellicle PowerPoint presentation. Ex-catly the sumptuously jellicle comedy show you deserve to lap up this now lockdown is over. A Purrrrrfect treat!
